Of all things, it had to be scanty hairlines
I love you, Mom
But if I had a choice?
Anything but your hairlines.
Of all things, it had to be a slender, petite frame
For some reason, I always wanted to grow up big
It’s a trait I admire in my Dad’s kin
Maybe that's why I feel pressured to fit in.
Of all things, it had to be skinny legs paired with a prominent calf
Why, the more I paid attention to it,
The more unflattering it seemed.
Of all things, I had to be this kind of beautiful,
And indeed I am–BEAUTIFUL
What more can I say?
Beauty comes in many forms, and this is mine.
I will praise You because I have been remarkably and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, and I know this very well. [Psalm 139:14 HCSB].
Now, reflect:
What does “beauty” mean to you, and how can you redefine it to include your own unique features?
Who/what have you blamed for looking a certain way?
Can you do something today to embrace your perceived imperfections and celebrate your individuality? (E.g in my case, I chose to write and share this piece)
Feel free to share this with someone 💛. Looking forward to hearing from you in the comments, too!

This was absolutely beautiful. Yes we are all fearfully and wonderfully made. A work of art fashioned from God's own heart 💕 I realized growing up, that insecurities were nothing but lies from the enemy. As I sought the Lord and discovered my identity in Christ, He fashioned me perfectly in His image. We are all fashioned perfectly in His image. To receive ourselves in the light He formed within us, in the image He crafted us in. It is a joy to embrace all God has made us to be! And im grateful to inspire and empower those around to walk confidently with grace, to embrace who we are in Him. God is the artist, we are His art. The art that shall never fade, the art of being fearfully and wonderfully made ✨️ God bless you beautiful! Thank you for sharing your story 💕
All the things make you beautiful 🩷🩷
