One thing I loved about Filipino shows was they didn't need to do extra menemene to show that the couples were in love. We could tell and gush over them

Girllll, I got all the nostalgic feels from this one. I gasped when Mara Clara didn't make top 10 but in all fairness you watched a lot of them so I'm sure you saw better shows than Mara Clara.

I loveee BFR and Her Mother's Daughter. That shoes part??? Too reall. I used to wish I had those shoes mehnnn.

Did you watch the other movies with Kathryn Bernado and Daniel Padilla like The Hows Of Us?

Also, another duo were the ones in Just The Way You Are.

My family watched Mara Clara and Her mother's daughter together. And also Dyesebel. I don't know if I spelt it well sha.

But after that, I became more invested in the single movies as I couldn't bear the elongated drama in the series.

Haha! I enjoyed Mara Clara—it was even my first. But yeah, I did see BETTER shows. BFR and HMD?! Gosh, beautiful movies.

I was a low-key fan of Kathryn and Daniel, but I'm not certain I saw the movie you mentioned. But I saw others like, “She’s dating the gangster,” and “Crazy beautiful you” that both of them acted. Did you hear about their real life breakup?🥹

I heard ohhhh.

The thing with those love teams (as they call them) is that they break up. Even the Bride For Rent couple broke up.

My sisters were, first, suckers for Mexican series. Then Filipino series came and they wouldn't allow us watch any other thing. 😂

Mexican series had a lot of nonsense, that was why I wasn't a fan lol. Filipino series though 🥹🔥

Squeals. Calm. Extra squeals again. Giggles. 😭😂😂

I've seen nearly all of them, if not all. My memory of them is faint now. 🌚

I remember my classmates gushing over Clark then. That guy's finnnneeeeeee.

Mehn! These series made my preteen and early-mid teens. 😂

How can I forget Maya and Sir Chief (BCWMH), On the Wings of Love, or Till I Met You? 😭

We hated it when NEPA refused to bring light, ehn. We bless God for those replays sha. 😂

Thank you for bringing them to my memory, girllll! 🤭

Squeals. Calm. Extra squeals again. Giggles. Hahaaaa because I loveeeee this feedback. I'm like, “Yooooo, she gets it!”😂😂😂.

I also GUSHED over Clark (James Reid). He was my celebrity crush for a long, long time. And you know, he sings so well too! When he and Nadine broke up real life in 2020, I was in tears! Hot one o😂.

Also, I could relate with the NEPA thingy. Especially when they take light during scenes that were 🔥.

Thank you so much for this heartwarming feedback. It truly warmed my heart. Xx.

I loved watching Filipino movies! Her Mother’s Daughter was one of my faves and it sure was a bonding experience for my family. As I didn’t know where to watch them, I gave up on it. Lol.

Maybe I’ll check out a few on your list and immerse myself in nostalgic memories.

Plus you’re such a fan 😅

Yes o, sis! Die hard fan lol. One of the reasons I also snapped out of it was because over time, the pirates weren't selling as much as they used to😂. So my obsession started to fizzle out. But those early days? Great time!🥹

Some movies such as “Bride for Rent” are still on YouTube. But those series? They're hard to come by.

I may have watched some of them when I was very young cuz I can't remember now but my parents always talk about them. I remember watching Glamorosa, Mara Clara, Be my Lady, The Better Half (the drama was plenty) and Till we meet again. I learnt Tagalog for a while too, the note I used to learn it is still at home 😅. Hopefully, I'll relearn it someday.

Maraming salamat po, I still remember this one sha 😅

Aww! Toluwani, you also share in my sentiments lol. Those movies were 🥹🔥. I saw Glamorosa and some parts of the Better half. I also had a note that I used to write down Tagalog as I was learning haha. Wow.

Maraming salmat to you too for reading this and sharing your thoughts 🫂.

I only saw parts of Mara and Clara😂

American movies took all my enthusiasm at that time of my life.

Welldone for curating this! How do you still remember what they're about?😂❤️

Mara Clara was the first Filipino movie I saw lol. And now that you talk about American movies... would you curate sum’n for us?😂

Btw, I remember all these details because I was heavily invested lol.

I think most people saw Mara Clara first. Anyhooo, I saw more American series than I saw actual movies. I remember Smallville, Desperate Housewives, The Vampire diaries, Heroes, 24...ati beebeelo.

Plus movies like Aeon Flux, Ultraviolet, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Titanic (of course 😂which was the only romance movie I saw in my childhood), Lord of The Rings, Blade...

I saw British series as well, including the famous Harry Potter, and Merlin.

Animated films/series...X-Men, Avatar: The Last Airbender(everyone's fave), Star Wars...etc.

I can't remember all🥹😂

Make I even add Lábé òrun join😭😭🤣🤣🤣

Oh, add Disneyyyyyy!

While Titanic was the closest portrayal of real love that I saw, Disney surrounded my mindset like a shield! 😂

I only got the chance to watch Mara and Clara then Some part of legal wife😂… how in this world could you still remember these storylines wow!😂 I had this girl then in school that narrates every single scene of the movie if I missed any and with the power of my imagination, I could picture every narration right 😭😂

I enjoyed reading every bit of this tho…. Now I have the urge to go watch some according to your description 😂❤️

Moms are always the sucker for Philippines movies. My mum would stay awake at midnight to watch the series she missed, it was like she was obsessed but I guess she passed it down because I do the same for Kdrama😂

Thank you for taking me down memory lane, I enjoyed watching Bridge of Love and Brothers the most😍, they were full of emotions but I watched till the end. Girl, this love pushed me to Korean drama, kinda alike but with a different language. I love you sis for this😘😘

Sometimes I read from you and I see my younger self in you. In my 20s, Filipino movies were my usual go to, and one of my fav actors was Jericho something and Katherine Hermosa? I hope I got their name right. But I used to get their DVDs then especially cos I was tired of all the soap operas that had explicit scenes and wanted something clean. So seeing this now just brings back memories. I don’t think I’ve seen any of the above mentioned though. It’s funny how filipino movies were the in thing years ago and now it’s kdrama.
